Balance Catamarans Offers Wireless Safety System

Always renowned for offering sailors the perfect balance of performance and luxury, Balance Catamarans is elevating the onboard experience even further by adopting the latest in wireless technology.

By integrating the cutting-edge wireless load monitoring system, manufactured by Cyclops Marine, Balance boosts safety and comfort for its entire range.

Designed to enhance onboard safety, provide close control over performance, and ensure easy and comfortable handling, this system has been installed on a number of Balance Catamarans and is available to all Balance owners.

Two Sensors, One Smart System

Balance Catamarans can perform at high levels, enabling sailors to enjoy thrilling speeds and responsive handling. However, pushing the performance envelope on any boat can lead to rig overload.

By integrating two smarttune sensors into the rigging, owners gain real-time rig load data accessible on onboard displays, smartphones, or tablets. These smart sensors, which swap in seamlessly for existing shroud turnbuckles, connect via Bluetooth to the boat’s instrumentation, ensuring a smooth, wireless flow of information – giving sailors a real-time understanding of their yacht’s safety status.

Additional sensors can be added to other parts of the rig as desired, allowing for all-round monitoring.

Safety and Confidence Onboard

With Balance’s new system, the simple installation of sensors on each side of the rig provides a centralised data display across onboard instruments or a mobile device. Real-time load data allows sailors to know when to make adjustments to keep the catamaran safe and the rig protected.

This data-driven approach empowers Balance owners to make informed decisions, like when to reef, offering peace of mind when sailing in challenging conditions or pushing the boat’s performance limits.

Simplicity Exemplified

Load data is displayed in user-friendly formats – either as precise numbers or through an intuitive dial indicating safety levels in green, amber, or red. This colour-coded system makes it easy for sailors to understand the status of their rig at a glance:

Green Zone: Assurance that the boat is well within safe limits, allowing for confident and relaxed sailing.

Amber Zone: A visual cue to stay aware and monitor changes in load, particularly if conditions become more intense.

Red Zone: A clear signal to take immediate action to depower the rig and return to safe parameters.

All load data is also logged, allowing owners to review past performance, analyse sailing conditions, and fine-tune their setup over time.

Efficient, Comfortable Sailing

By monitoring rig loads, Balance owners can set up their catamaran for optimal performance. They can simply establish the ideal settings for the given conditions, and keep an eye on the numbers or colours displayed – ensuring consistent, efficient sailing time and time again.

Performance Perfected

Cyclops Marine, the creator of this innovative system, originally made its name by providing essential tools for top-level racing, from the America’s Cup to the Vendee Globe. Now, Balance Catamaran owners can also benefit from this technology, learning to adjust their rigs to match optimal settings and pushing their boats to peak performance – all while safe in the knowledge of loading limits.

The wireless system allows Balance owners to confidently explore their boat’s full potential, enhancing both the speed and enjoyment of sailing.

“At Balance Catamarans, our mission is to deliver the ultimate sailing experience, combining fantastic performance with absolute safety. This wireless load monitoring system empowers our owners to sail confidently, knowing they are getting the most out of their yacht in any conditions – all while maintaining peace of mind and safety at sea.” – Phillip Berman, Founder & President, Balance Catamarans

You can now get your new Balance Catamaran with Cyclops Load Sensors pre-installed, or they can be retrofitted to your existing yacht.
