Ordering & Customizing Your Balance

We collaborate closely with you to define the specifications that will make your Balance catamaran perfectly suited to your needs. From selecting the options to customizing your interior and exterior design, we guide you through the entire process.

Confidence, Inspiring Education & Training

After placing your order you gain access to our Balance Owners Portal, which features hundreds of videos covering operations, maintenance, handling, and troubleshooting your Balance. We also offer seminars, webinars, and on-water sailing instruction tailored to your skill level, along with passage and crewing opportunities with experienced captains, including our partnership with Outer Passage, offering hands-on passage-making training and education.

Monitoring Your Construction

Throughout your catamaran’s construction we provide regular updates with photos and videos of each stage of her build and welcome you to visit our shipyards to observe the progress firsthand. Many of our customers enjoy visiting South Africa either before or during their build to meet our teams, finalize decisions, tour our factories, and, often enough, to enjoy a safari, the cape wine country, or any of the myriad vacation experiences South Africa has to offer.

Splash & Commissioning in South Africa

We manage first-stage commissioning of the Balance 526 and 580 in Saint Francis, while the 464, 502 and 750 are commissioned in Cape Town at our marina facility in the Victoria & Alfred waterfront. Here we complete the commissioning of all of our models and prepare them for departure. To assist with departure, we provide guidance on all essential documentation, including MMSI registration, importation, and pre-launch requirements. Before setting off, we offer a comprehensive checklist covering everything from safety equipment and provisioning to route and weather planning.

Shipment & Delivery

Most Balance owners enjoy sailing home on their new catamaran, whether that is North toward the Caribbean or East toward Australasia. Some with strong sailing experience skipper their own boats and organize their own crews, while others hire a Certified Balance Delivery skipper familiar with our catamarans and committed to continuing the education process with our owners on their journey home. For those who prefer to ship their Balance there are regular freighter pick ups in Cape Town heading to anywhere in the world and we facilitate that process for our owners from start to finish.

Service & Support

Balance is dedicated to offering the finest customer care and support in the marine industry. As the majority of our catamarans embark on the longest sea trial in the world, we’ve developed the most comprehensive passage-making support program in the marine industry. We have also established authorized Balance Service Centers, with Balance employees, in Grenada, Virginia, Annapolis and France. Uniquely, we also employ a full-time OEM support manager to assist our customers with any piece of OEM that isn’t working properly.

Balance Catamarans goes beyond technical support by offering access to our exclusive Owner’s Portal, where you can find a full suite of resources to optimize your sailing experience. Through our network, you can engage with fellow owners, share experiences, and participate in events designed to foster camaraderie and knowledge-sharing among the Balance family.
