Worship

DSC01595

The Church reopened for weekly worship on 13 September.  The service takes place at 1pm and lasts approximately 30 minutes with a one-way system in place to enter and leave the building with touch-free hand sanitisers available for use at both points.  Contact details are required for test and protect, face masks require to be worn at all times in the building.

Whether you have been to church before or not we would be delighted to see you.  It is our hope that those who gather for worship will be led into an experience of God’s love.  Our worship and time together gives us the courage we need to go back out into the world to live as God’s people.

 Throughout the year

We hold other services (as noted below) but due to COVID 19 these are all on hold at present.  Watch this space for updates about worship

We hold occasional joint services with other churches in the town and during the school holiday break in the summer we unite for worship.  Details are posted online and in the church magazine.

 The Sacrament of Holy Communion

is celebrated at our 11am morning worship in February, June and October.  We also celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on Easter Sunday and during the United Summer Services.

Our church is decorated for all festival occasions and church flowers enhance our weekly worship. The flowers are then delivered to those who are ill or housebound or who have been bereaved or who are celebrating a special event in their lives.

Hveg displayarvest Thanksgiving provides another opportunity for us to enhance our sanctuary with visual displays. Through financial and practical gifts we offer support for a charity each year and we do the same at our Christmas Eve service.  We have supported a variety of charities eg Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust, St Andrew’s Hospice, MND Scotland, Christian Aid, Playlist for Life.

During Advent we hold a Carol Service for the Bereaved which allows us to reach out to folk who find this time of year particularly difficult.  We place stars on our Christmas tree in memory of loved ones.

On Christmas Eve we have an early evening Family Carol Service and a short family service and on Christmas Day we gather to celebrate with a warming cuppa in the hall followed by a short service around the Christmas tree in the church.
